Is Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Officialy Renewed?

Paramount+ has renewed mayor of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner, for a second season by Paramount+. The recently announced second season will continue the investigation of the jail industry in Kingstown, Michigan. The town itself is where its economy is sustained only by the corrupt and unfair system.

Mayor of Kingstown’s season 2 renewal is unsurprising given that it is Paramount+’s second-most-watched original series, after only Yellowstone’s prequel series 1883.

The McLusky family is a powerhouse confronting systemic racism, corruption, and injustice in Kingstown, Michigan, where the sole flourishing industry is incarceration.

The drama series’ first season premiered in November, with the season finale airing in January. The series debut garnered 2.6 million viewers on the linear network, while the second episode drew 2.1 million. Mayor of Kingstown was also the most-watched scripted debut on the Paramount Network since 2018.

The sitcom was co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, who also serve as executive producers. In addition to playing a major role, Jeremy Renner acted as executive producer.

Along with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, executive producers were Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and Michael Friedman.

Taylor Sheridan previously spoke with Deadline about the second season of Mayor of Kingstown, which is part of his universe of programs, including Yellowstone, 1883, the impending Sylvester Stallone-led Kansas City, Bass Reeves Land Man, and Lioness.
