The Orville is a sci-fi comedy television series created by Seth MacFarlane and inspired by the original Star Trek and its Next Generation successor.
The series stars Seth MacFarlane as the main protagonist Ed Mercer, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J. Lee, Mark Jackson, and Jessica Szohr.
The first season of the series aired from September 10 to December 7, 2017, on Fox with a total of twelve episodes but it couldn’t perform quite well and received negative reviews from critics.
The second season premiered from December 30, 2018, to April 25, 2019, with a total of 14 episodes on Fox, and this time, it performed relatively well and has an IMDB rating of 8 out of 10 and 65 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Orville Season 3 Release Date
In July 2019, the official announcement came out that the series will be renewed for a season 3 and was supposed to air on Hulu in late 2020.
Though the series had to be delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has hit almost every sector in the world. The upcoming season: The Orville: New Horizons, was then delayed to March 10, 2022, and now this has again been delayed and scheduled to be aired on 2 June 2022 and will have a total of eleven episodes.

The Orville Season 3 Cast
The cast from the previous seasons will return to reprise their roles and there will also be some additions to the existing cast of the series. Here are the names:
- Adrianne Palicki will portray the character Commander Kelly Grayson
- Jessica Szohr will portray the character Lieutenant Talla Keyali
- Penny Johnson Jerald will portray the character Doctor Claire Finn
- Scott Grimes will portray the character Lieutenant Gordon Malloy
- Peter Macon will portray the character Lieutenant Commander Bortus
- J Lee will portray the character Lieutenant Commander John LaMarr
- Mark Jackson will portray the character Isaac
- Chad L Coleman will portray the character Klyden
Eliza Taylor is also expected to appear as a guest star for an undisclosed role.
The Orville Season 3 Expected Storyline
The Orville is set on the titular spacecraft: USS Orville (ECV-197), a middle-level exploratory vessel in the Planetary Union, a 25th-century interstellar alliance of Earth and many other planets.
The show is packed with lots of adventures explored by the crew of the ship, typically incorporating planet pioneering and trips to several sections of the galaxy. The series focuses on advancing through the complications of their own interpersonal relationships.
