Brand New Cherry Flavor, 2021 Netflix series, is a horror drama based on the novel of the same name written by Todd Grimson. The series was created by Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion and also gathered positive reviews from audiences as well as critics.
Brand New Cherry Flavor has an IMDB rating of 7.2 out of 10 and 81 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. With the success that season one got, fans are eagerly waiting to see if there will be a second season.
The series revolves around a young filmmaker named Salazar who pursues her Hollywood dreams in California, just to be defeated and utilized by Eric Lange who is a shady producer.

Though there is no official announcement made by Netflix about the renewal of the series for a second season given the positive reviews that the series has gathered from viewers and critics, it signifies that there must be a renewal for the series and we will have a second season that will be a more intriguing one.
But currently, at that given point, it would be difficult to say it surely until there is an official confirmation from the creators. If the series’ renewal gets confirmed then it would be sure to take at least a period of a year to release, so, we cannot expect the release before 2023.
The first season of the series premiered on August 14, 2021, on Netflix with a total of eight episodes. During an interview, Antosca talked about the probability of another season of Brand New Cherry Flavor, planned to become a limited series, persisting in some form:
“We planned it as a contained story. Never say never if all the stars align, but we felt we wanted to take this journey with this character. So, we took elements of what Todd created to tell a contained story.”
Antosca also talked about how the series involved alterations within the storylines of the novel, indicating the first season just got through the starting of a longer story. This signifies that there is a lot more left in the story to unveil in an expected second season.
“There’s a lot that changed from the book, and this series basically takes the first section of the book and explores that. What was most important was that story of somebody trying to realize their vision despite all these obstacles.”
Brand New Cherry Flavor Season 1 End
At the end of the first season of Brand New Cherry Flavor, we saw Lisa coming back to her home country of Brazil, in spite of getting the credit and recognition finally that she would aspire for all along.
But, the persisting spirit of Boro (played by Catherine Keener) remains “alive” and well, hence, we have a lot to see in the second season.
