Dr. Dre, actual name Andre Romelle Young, was born in Compton, California, on February 18, 1965.
His parents were married in 1964, divorced in 1972, and remarried in 1968. His mother eventually remarried and had three children: Jerome and Tyree, who died, and Shameka.
Dre began his education at Compton’s Vanguard Junior High School. However, as gang violence increased, he transferred to Roosevelt Junior High School, located in a safer neighborhood.

Dr. Dre Career
Dre was working at a neighborhood club, Eve After Dark, in the mid-1980s. Dre would D.J. at the club after witnessing several others play there previously. Dre met D.J. Yella, a future member of N.W.A., here.
Dre and N.W.I used the club’s little recording studio to record some first demos in the rear room.
N.W.A was created in 1986 by Ice Cube and Eazy-E and D.J. Yella and MC Ren. The group’s self-titled debut album, ‘Straight Outta Compton,’ was a critical and commercial triumph.
Dre quit the group in the early 1990s following a series of disagreements and wanted to go solo. He released his first song in 1992 through Suge Knight’s Death Row Records. ‘The Chronic’ was the title of his debut solo album.
Dre departed Death Row Records in 1996, establishing Aftermath Entertainment and releasing the album ‘Dr. Dre Presents the Aftermath.
