Wentworth Season 9 Release Date Status & Confirmation on Netflix!

Wentworth is an Australian television drama series created by Lara Radulovich, David Hannam, and Reg Watson for SoHo.

The series first aired on May 1, 2013, on SoHo. The series, set in the modern-day, initially revolves around Bea Smith’s early days behind bars and her ensuing rise to the top of the jail’s hierarchy.

The series moved to focus more on an ensemble format from the beginning of season five. The first episode of the series had the highest viewership among Australian Drama series premieres in the history of Foxtel.

The series has received many positive reviews from audiences as well as critics and has an IMDB rating of 8.7 out of 10.

On December 5, 2018, the series was renewed for an eighth season of 20 episodes for which filming started in October 2019.

The eighth season aired in two parts, the first of which aired with 10 episodes on July 28, 2020, and ended on September 29, 2020; and the second part premiered on August 24, 2021, and dropped the last episode (100th episode) on October 26, 2021.

We know that fans out there are curious to know if there will be the ninth season of Wentworth and here’s what we know so far about it.

Is Wentworth Renewed for Season 9?

Well, in October 2019, it was confirmed that the series would end after the premiere of the second part of season 8. The series consists of 100 episodes which makes it the longest-running hour drama series in the history of Foxtel.

Wentworth Season 9 Release Date

Currently, there is no official announcement that hints towards the show getting renewed for season 9.

And, most likely we won’t have another season of the drama series as it was made clear that the eighth season will be the concluding one.

Unfortunately, the chances for the series getting a renewal for the ninth season is sort of negligible but who knows if the team decides to have second thoughts on the subject.

We will have to wait until official confirmation, until then stay tuned to our website.
