According to a new report, it is suggested that the superhero drama TV series “Superman & Lois” is supposed to be renewed for a third season at The CW.
The series is developed by Todd Helbing and Greg Berlanti and is inspired by the DC Comics characters Superman and Lois Lane which were created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
The first season of the series aired on The CW on February 23, 2021, with a total of 15 episodes. Just within a few days after the premiere of the first season, The CW made the announcement of the renewal of the series for a second season on March 2, 2021.
The second season premiered on January 11, 2022. The series is set in the Arrowverse and stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch for the role of Superman and Lois Lane respectively and revolves around their struggle which they face in balancing their work, justice, and parenthood.
The show has received a lot of positive reviews both, from the viewers as well as critics, and the highest viewership is on the pilot episode of the series in comparison to any other The CW series pilot except for Batwoman.
Currently, the second season of Superman & Lois is in the middle of premiering, of which the first episode aired on January 11.
There is no rating available yet for the second season but the first season has a rating of 7.9 out of 10 on IMDB and 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Is the Series Renewed for the Third Season?
Though there are rumors circulating that the third season of Superman & Lois is all set to be renewed. Though there is no official announcement made by The CW as of now about the upcoming renewal, the report suggests that the series is “a lock to return for season three.”
The second season has not been concluded currently and hence, Superman & Lois is among the newest The CW series, though given its fanbase and ratings it seems like it could probably become a pillar for The CW.
As of now, The Flash ran for 8 seasons and is all set to get a renewal for another season, which makes this show one of the longest-running series on the network.
We can’t assure the same longevity for Superman & Lois, though the show is gathering all appreciation and also there is more than enough source material available to cover for the future plots.
The CW series are popular for their various crossover episodes, right from its characters and plots from one series frequently running into others. Superman & Lois hasn’t featured any big crossover events, though a lot of fans are expecting what the second season’s end could bring in respect of surprises.
