The game will be exclusively available on the Nintendo console for the Switch and its siblings just like the majority of the Nintendo franchises.
Breath of the Wild 2 Title
The official title of the upcoming game is actually not Breath Of The Wild 2. It is just like fans began to call the follow-up after they got to know about its existence.
Basically, the follow-up has a subtitle similar to other Zelda games. During an interview with IGN, Bill Trinen, the marketing manager for Nintendo, described that the subtitle may lead to ruining the storyline of the new action-adventure game.
Therefore, with the purpose of keeping the secret for a bit longer period of time, the team preferred to restrain from making the announcement of the actual title.
Internally, the game is being called by Nintendo as “Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” It is the name that is being used over all of its official materials, along with the trailer.
That being said, Trinen and other representatives available at Nintendo Treehouse looked quite okay with the fans addressing the sequel of Breath of the Wild with the name it preferred.
Breath of the Wild 2 Pre-orders
The pre-order for Breath of the Wild 2 does exist, though not many are available there. It is expected that other well-known gaming retailers will make pre-orders available sometime later.
No confirmed date has been announced yet for BOTW2 collector’s versions or BOTW2 amiibo figures as of now, though we will ensure to inform you whether and when they will be made available.
Please keep in mind that no exact release date has been announced yet. In the February 2022 financial presentation to investors, the time window for Breath of the Wild 2 was revealed by Nintendo to investors, which means BOTW 2 is still in the pipeline for a launch this year.

Breath of the Wild 2 Gameplay
The sequel of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild appears to majorly develop the mechanisms of the original game.
Although, the sequel comes with new powers, which can be clearly seen in the trailer. Link phases from the floor of a floating road, and prompts a huge spiky ball up a mountain and through some rivals. There is something in the works that might have something to do with time reversal, gravity, or anything else unknown.
Apart from the lush, displayed open landscapes in Breath of the Wild, there appears to be some sort of explorable area beyond the clouds.
One of the articles of VG247 recommends that exploring the sky could emerge to be like Wind Waker, where islands showcase unique quests and mini-games in order to make them different from one another rather than merely existing like dull landmasses. Although, this is just an expectation and not a confirmed feature indeed.
Do You Get to Play as Zelda?
Perhaps no. As the trailer features her tripping over an extreme, dark hole and Link hanging around on his own. However, it was a good expectation whilst it remained. Except for Nintendo is withholding something and we are of course ready for a surprise as and when more details are revealed.
