A $50 Million Annual Salary for Aaron Rodgers if He Joins the Washington Redskins?

It is not a surprise for anyone that “Ron Rivera” who is Washington Commanders coach, is “football-serious” about making an addition of a franchise QB to his list this year.

In this article, we will figure out how “salary-serious” he is.

The teams with cap room would also prefer to have a certain type of “budget” for how they spend what this year is a $208 million ceiling cap and how the amount is allocated in subsequent years.

Along with the awaited decision of Aaron Rodgers regarding his vision for the 2022 season, it is also expected that he demands a whopping amount of $50 million APY to continue playing.

Aaron Rodgers

On Thursday on “The Rich Eisen Show,” ESPN’s Dianna Russini confirmed,

“He wants to be the highest-paid player in the NFL by a wide margin, so we’re talking about $50 million a year.”

Later that day, the two-time prevailing MVP made use of media pal Pat McAfee to decline the report.

According to Pat McAfee, Rodgers described the report as “categorically false,” who stated on his Friday show that he messaged the quarterback to preach the assertion.

Rodgers has stated that he will convey his plans to the Packers “soon.” Those plans may also include retirement following seventeen seasons with Green Bay, completing the final year of his agreement with the Packers (since currently, he is due $33.5 million), or asking that the Packers trade him to another team.

And this refers that a new team that would just perhaps, have to fulfill his new salary expectations to onboard him.

On Friday’s “First Things First,” ex-Packers receiver Greg Jennings criticized his then quarterback upon the report.

Aaron Rodgers

Jennings said “Aaron Rodgers has been a very selfish guy,” adding further “I go back to personal experiences. His words to me were, ‘Don’t be that guy’ (regarding taking up too much of the salary cap). All of a sudden, it’s about the money.”

It is well known by everyone that the Packers want to keep Rodgers and are expected to be interested to raise his salary to meet his expectations except the sole way to meet the demands is to trade him to a new team.

Additionally, according to some other reports, it is also being said that teams already have “offers on the table” to make that happen, as soon as the plans are declared by Rodgers.

Ron Rivera

Washington requires to be one among those teams at that table, at least in an introductory way.

Starting this past season, Rodgers threw for 4,115 yards and thirty-seven goals against just 4 captures in 16 and got the victory in his 4th NFL MVP. In case Rivera is to look for a premium way to vault his club to true claim, he and his front office should find out whether Rodgers is “worth” $50 million, which is for sure a “premium” consideration.
