Epic Games is shutting down Fortnite for server maintenance as part of update 19.40. Fortnite’s next significant update is scheduled to launch on March 1 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Android, and Switch.
Unfortunately, update 19.40 will be released concurrently with a period of server downtime, meaning there will be no Fortnite for at least a couple of hours.

According to Epic Games’ Twitter account, Fortnite matchmaking will be disabled in the United Kingdom from 8.30 am GMT.
When you’re already in a game before 8.30 am, you can continue playing until 9 am GMT UK time, when servers will completely shut down.
Nobody will be able to play Fortnite at 9 am GMT (4 am ET), and everyone already in a game will be thrown out until maintenance is complete.

While there is no set finish time for server maintenance, downtime is normally between two and four hours.
Unless something goes wrong, this means you’ll be able to rejoin Fortnite at the latest by 11 am GMT. Express Online will update this item when new information becomes available.
