Introduction to the Movie and Trailer
The trailer of Jurassic World 3 is finally out. After a lot of waiting the trailer has come out earlier than expected and has a lot to be excited about. Officially called Jurassic World: Dominion, the latest movie is all completed ahead of its release in June 2022.
Universal has also released a prelude as a teaser, but it is not expected that any of that clip will be in the actual film. We’ve already started to see certain new looks at the movie that displays Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire in some difficulty.
Chris Pratt’s Owen is followed by a perilous new raptor and the first appearance of DeWanda Wise’s uncanny character. There is a lot for fans to be thrilled about, so without much delay, here is everything you need to know about Jurassic World: Dominion.
Jurassic World 3 Release Date: When Is Jurassic World Dominion Out in Cinemas?
Jurassic World: Dominion will hit the theaters on June 10, 2022, almost a year-long delay from its original June 2021 release. As previously stated, writer/director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that the film is finished ahead of its theatrical release, so we only have to hope with crossed fingers that it does not face another postponement.
The shooting for the film began in February 2020 before being halted in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the movie was the first hit to start shooting again in the UK in July and it completed its filming in November 2020.
Provided that it is bringing back the best actors and finishing the whole Jurassic rigmarole to date, we are hoping for big things from the film that we are eyeing to be the biggest hit of 2022.
Jurassic World 3 Cast: Who’s Back in Jurassic World Dominion?
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will feature once again as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing. After the dinosaurs flee into the actual world at the end of Fallen Kingdom, Trevorrow has given that Owen is still attempting to help them when we see him again in the third movie.
About Claire, Trevorrow is staying secretive about where to find her at the beginning of Dominion but it was added that she was examining her ways and whether she could remain safe.
Obviously, Pratt and Howard are not the only stars returning for the third movie and we will get to the real big names in some time. First up, Isabella Sermon is coming back as Maisie Lockwood, the genetic child of John Hammond’s previous partner Sir Benjamin Lockwood.
It is also speculated that Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda will return as Franklin Webb and Zia Rodriguez, besides Lupin’s Omar Sy posing as the trainer of a velociraptor named Barry Sembene. We had anticipated that Jake Johnson would make a comeback as Lowery after missing the sequel, but that is not happening.
The actor revealed in August 2021 that setting disputes prevented him from assuming the role. BD Wong will also return as the ethically suspicious scientist Dr. Henry Wu, so, fortunately, he will finally have his due punishment. But he won’t be the only Jurassic Park star returning for the finale of the trilogy.
Though Jeff Goldblum made a comeback to the franchise as Dr. Ian Malcolm, he had a short screen time in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. But don’t worry, fans of the original, Goldblum will make a comeback with Sam Neill and Laura Dern.
Trevorrow has also been reiterating that the OG trio has enough screen time like Bryce and Chris. He added that though they are not together all the time, they will show both their stories equally.
Pratt had formerly teased that everyone would make a comeback, but there is still no official confirmation on the returns from Ariana Richards, Vince Vaughn, Julianne Moore, William H Macy, Téa Leoni, or Lauren Lapkus.
As for the antagonist of the film, there is a classic character making a comeback who could be filling that role – Campbell Scott aka Lewis Dodgson aka the dodgy man in shades who gave Dennis Nedry that false can of shaving cream to keep dinosaur embryos.
Dodgson was a part of an unsettled storyline in the first film, so we are happy that he will be returning. Let’s hope he brings his black market super-spy mischievous moves back with him, maybe with a vacant surprise package to conceal a dinosaur egg or something.
One figure who has ruled out a comeback is The Office US actor Andy Buckley who portrayed the role of Claire’s brother-in-law Scott Mitchell in Jurassic World. That also implies it is not probable that we will see Judy Greer back as Claire’s sister Karen.
New entrants to the franchise in the third movie are DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie, but nothing has been clarified about their roles yet.
Jurassic World 3 Plot: What Will Happen in Jurassic World Dominion?
After the intense cliffhanger to Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom saw dinosaurs escape into the outer real world, the 2019 short film Battle at Big Rock suggested the new world order that we will be seeing in the third film.
According to Trevorrow, the third movie is set three years after this short film because Dominion is set in 2022. He explained that everything in his mind has always been very present-day-like.
We don’t yet know much about what the threequel will have, but Trevorrow has divulged that different from the former movies, the movie’s background will be outside of the US. He explained that the dinosaurs have been increasing and living amongst the people and engaging with humans.
He also said that Dominion is set all over the world and through several different surroundings: wilderness, urban, desert, and snow. Trevorrow has branded the movie a “science thriller” and Howard has been reiterating how the film will bring the whole story together, especially because it has been said that it is the ultimate film in the Jurassic World series.
With the return of Jurassic Park characters, Dominion won’t just end the Jurassic World trilogy, but the whole saga and leave it making like an epic story. As for who the villain of the film will be, Trevorrow indicated to EW that it will be returning Lewis Dodgson.
Goldblum has been teasing a life or death clip that they are present in, while Trevorrow has said that they are included in the finale in some manner and Neill has assured fans they can expect something grand. There might also be romance in the air for two of the comeback characters.
Jurassic World: Dominion hits the cinemas on June 10, 2022.
