Introduction to the Show
The first season of Don Mancini’s slow hit horror show, Chucky, will make its way onto Blu-Ray on April 12th from Universal. The series is based on the famous Child’s Play franchise that Mancini created, which shows the adventures of Chucky, the killer Good Guy doll.

Chucky, which was renewed for a second season in November, streamed on SYFY and the USA Network together in late 2021. The first season somehow had 9.5 million viewers altogether. Nick Antosca, who was a showrunner on Channel Zero and The Act, is an executive producer of the series.
About the Seasons
The Blu-ray release of the first season of Chucky shows all eight episodes, the total duration being 6 hours and 4 minutes.
The Blu-ray also has two unique features. One of the unique features seems to be a featurette called “The Legacy of Chucky”. There are multiple deleted scenes too, which serves as the second special feature.
Cast and Plot Development
The initial season of Chucky showed the titular doll as he is sold at a yard sale in a small suburban city and starts causing chaos in the lives of many residents.
There are many new people including a young artist named Jake, the show actually forms a kind of “Chucky-verse”, where characters from the actual franchise return and interlink with each other in methods they have used never before.
Legacy actors from the original Child’s Play franchise that come back in the latest series include Brad Dourif as Chucky, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany, Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, and Christine Elise as Kyle.
It has been rumored by Mancini and Tilly that Glen/Glenda, the child of Chucky and Tiffany from Seed of Chucky, will feature in the second season of Chucky.
Release Date of the Second Season
According to reports, Mancini began working on scripts for the second this last December and it should be set for a release in late 2022. Until then fans of the show will have to buy the Blu-ray of season one to fulfill their urge.
