He told the Heat magazine recently that one thing he has decided to certainly do and is really eager about is his new stand-up show. Besides, he also added that he is treating it as if it were his final ever act. He then said that he wants to put all his efforts into it and try to get canceled going out there.

He also said that according to him many of these pious offense comes from people misunderstanding the aim of the joke with the topic. Gervais went on to add that one can joke about anything but it is dependent on what the real target is.

If one uses irony and people view that at face value and think you are saying one thing but you are actually conveying the opposite. In his interview with Heat, Gervais also talked about the idea that most people in Hollywood have that he “killed” the Golden Globes.

He has hosted the telecast five times in 2010-12, 2016, and 2020. He pleaded that it was not his fault and he did not kill the awards, and also that he liked hosting the Golden Globes and for many people, it is what he is most known for.
